Here at my Mount Pleasant, SC location, I provide individual counseling to assist clients to clarify their problem, determine what solutions would be helpful to them and offer encouragement as they use the new tools developed in therapy.
Couples counseling adds an additional person to the process. Again, we examine each person’s view of their issues, address what each is willing to change and find compromise together with new tools of effective communication and negotiation.
Finally, family counseling is done with two or more persons involved in the group. The goals are again to analyze the issues, listen to each parties view of things, and offer alternative choices to build a calmer, more desirable outcome for all persons.
Insurances accepted are Aetna, APS, BCBS, BlueChoice, Cigna, Humana, Magellan, Medicare, MultiPlan, Psychcare, PHCS, Tricare, United Behavioral Health, Value Options, Wellness Corp and many EAP programs.

During our work together, we review communication styles for effectiveness and suggest alternatives if needed. Both parties learn to negotiate and communicate in a respectful, straightforward manner to create mutually desired outcomes.
Family counseling or family therapy is 2 or more persons all together in session. Initially, the work clarifies the actual areas of distress or poor communication. Once each member of the group has been heard, we begin the process of sorting and sifting issues to alleviate turmoil at home and improve communication and mutual problem solving. During therapy, respect and effective listening are essential tools to build successful results.
