Just one-half block south of the renowned Belmond Charleston Place Hotel, J. McLaughlin is located on Lower King Street, south of Market Street. Look for our yellow and white striped awning in the fashion corridor, surrounded by Charleston's famous antique stores, art galleries, restaurants, and historic homes. Charleston's Historic City Market is just around the corner from our store. Be sure to pick up some "okra chips" or sweet, sugary Benne Bits (which are said to bring good luck) while you're there. Hungry for something more? Grab a table at Husk and enjoy their "Husk Burger, which has its own cult following! Later, don't miss one of the 14 rooftop bars downtown- the Vendue is a huge favorite among locals. We also recommend making dinner reservations well-ahead of time at one of Charleston's many award-winning restaurants, too (at least a few weeks in advance)! Once you're satiated, visit the cobblestone streets leading to beautiful historic homes, lush gardens, and a river harbor filled with schooners and sailboats. The Charleston Museum is also a must-see, and is located just blocks away from J. McLaughlin.
