I posted an ad looking for some mechanical help with my 86 RV (it needed an exhaust manifold gasket). Dave from Arnolds Auto responded to my e-mail saying the repair would cost $500 and they could have it done in a day. I returned his e-mail saying at that time I did not have $500 as I just got my RV and was pretty tapped on funds. I asked if he would consider a partial trade for some Auto and Web Services I could offer him. I never got a response so I put them out of my mind. Well after 3 more weeks of running my ad, no one else e-mailed me about my ad so I figured I would just pay the $500 and have Arnolds Auto do the whole repair. I went up there on Thurs August 23, talked to Dave about the repair, he wanted me to leave it for an entire week. I explained I live in my RV full time and could not leave it there for a week. One day would be fine but not a week. I then asked again if he would be interested in a partial trade for some help developing a website. He ignored the question and kept talking about my RV. After Dave actually saw the job that needed to be done, he was not confident that his shop could do the repair in 1 day. He asked another one of his mechanics who also thought it would take a long time. Then he asked another one of his mechanics for his advice (this guy was an old school mechanic that could prob fix anything and had prior experience with the repair I needed done), well this mechanic took one look at my RV and said he could do the repair no problem. I was thrilled as its a hard job and old school mechanics are hard to find. I set my appointment up for the following monday. Saturday night my battery died and I had to get a new one from Walmart, that left me $100 short of getting my RV fixed at Arnolds. So monday morning came around and I called Arnolds at 9am when they opened. I spoke to DJ and explained I could not make my appointment. He said thanks for letting them know and then took my info so the owner Dave could call me back once he got to the shop (Dave doesn't come in till 10am I guess). Well I waited and never got a call back. So later that day I e-mailed Dave again and said I couldn't make my appointment cause I was short on money. I then asked if he was interested in me helping them get a website built. I had spent several hours over the weekend developing Arnolds Auto a small 6 page test site to showcase their services. I included a link to the site in my e-mail and told Dave if he was interested great and if not it was fine too. Again I got no response. If he had simply called me in the morning like I was told he would have knew that I wasn't that short on money and wanted to reschedule my appointment for that friday if he wasn't interested in any trading of services. I never asked for him to do the job for free, only to discount the labor for alot of web help (which his business desperately needs). He says later that he told me he wasn't interested in any kind of trade but that is simply a lie, if he did tell me that I never would have spent the time building him a test site, I mean like seriously, why waste my time on something if I knew the person didn't want it. But like I said Dave choose to ignore me rather then simply say it was a cash only job, which I was fine with. I wanted their shop to do the repair and I told him that. So a few days of not hearing anything, I left a bad review on Yelp. Not even 8hrs later Dave calls my phone ranting about commercials and other things that did not make sense. He then called me a few names and hung up on me. I tried calling him back to explain that I left my review because he ignored my calls and e-mails but Dave did not want to listen to anything. After that Dave posted my personal phone number and e-mail address on several sites (he knows I don't run a business) as payback for my bad review. I just told him I would keep adding my review of his shop to more and more sites because of his actions. I also filed a complaint against his company with the BBB because he posted my personal phone number and e-mail. Thats not the kind of thing you do as a business owner. He operates a business and should strive to help his customers, prior, current and future, he should also expect the occasional bad review when he chooses to ignore a potential customer. Dave did none of this and has since posted many comments that try and make me look bad for living full time in an RV. His customer service is horrible and his actions prove he is a guy you can't trust, don't use his shop, you will probably end up regretting it because of Dave himself. I would like to add that his mechanics were nice and knowledgeable, they deserve a better employer.
