Best Automotive Shop in Austin

Shop is nothing fancy, but the people working there know what they are doing. Oscar will help you with just about anything.
Oscar will tell you whats wrong, not what you want to hear.
Took truck into a Firestone for a spongy brake pedal, and was told my brake lines were leaking and would have to be replaced, somewhere around $1000. Too steep, and didn't trust 'em. Ben White looked at it, the master cylinder was broken. $600 and some change and there have been no brake problems since.
All three cars have been going there for almost 2 years.
Don't trust your car with anyone but Ben White.

Prompt Service

An Honest, Competent Shop

My Trailblazer was failing to reach operating temperature. I made my own diagnosis of a stuck thermostat. After purchasing the parts to "do it myself" I realized that the thermostat placement made the job more than I wanted to tackle.

I dropped in on Ben White Automotive on a Monday morning, and they were able to answer my questions and offer the labor at a competitive price. The technician took the time to check for engine codes and confirm my diagnosis before beginning work. The complicated job was completed in a reasonable amount of time and for exactly the quoted amount. The vehicle now warms quickly and operates exactly as designed.

My only quibble is that the old upper radiator hose was reinstalled rather than the new one that was provided on the passenger floorboard. Rather than return to the shop, I completed the simple exchange myself.

I recommend Ben White Automotive South for the great attitude and competence of its employees coupled with fair prices.

Regardless of issue your offered a full solution and then a conversation to tailor the actual scope of work to your present needs; be it time, money or other. Fair and Reasonable...can't ask for more than that can you.

Buyer's Check

Had a good experience taking a vehicle there to have an extensive buyer's check done. They take their work very seriously and offered extensive advice about what they found.

I can tell they were all very good folk, but on the day I went they seemed a little cranky, must have been a Monday! Regardless, I will be going back for my regular maintenance.

Best Automotive Repair Experience EVER!!!

Kevin McCollum should be sainted. Time and repair estimates were totally accurate. The best part of this whole experience was that I had gone to Brake Check on 6015 South IH 35 because of an oil leak and power steering fluid leak. I was told I needed an engine rebuild and rack and pinion replaced. $4500-$5500. It's funny how they insisted on the repairs and were hesitant to bring my car off the rack. I left anyway and went to Ben White Automotive for a second opinion.
It turns out all I needed was a return hose for the power steering and a dip stick, so after replacing that and power steering flush and oil change; I was out of there in 1 hour for $208.40. This is a far cry from the $5000.00 engine rebuild Brake Check said I needed. My Tracker is operating beautifully, no leaks at all. Kevin and the guys at Ben White Automotive have restored my faith in the auto repair industry. If you want auto repair people you can trust, Ben White Automotive is your place.

Top Notch

This is the place you have been searching for. Honest, friendly and hard working. The estimate was fair and after the work was done, it was actually LESS than the estimate. I was given a comprehensive list of other things that were in need of repair and the prices are all more than fair. I was given a taxi voucher to get back home and I couldn't be more pleased with the staff and service. Gentlemen, you have yourselves a new customer and will not hesitate to send other folks your way. Thank you.
