You'll pay for the food, not the service
First off, I do have to say that the food is excellent. I've been back 6 times and never once did I get a fishy piece of fishy, if you know what I'm saying.

Some of the best sushi I've had and at the best price!
Sushi Garden has delicious, fresh, and very reasonably priced sushi! I have been to numerous places that are much more expensive and the sushi was never better than Sushi Garden's. The new location at the Foothills Mall has decor that is very chic . The Alvernon and Broadway location is the original. The interior is a little less hip. But the sushi is still good and that's the most important thing! The lunch buffets are good considering the price but the selection on the sushi available from the buffet is a little limited. But there is a nice variety to choose from considering the rest of the items. The all you can eat for $20 is a good if you have a big appetite but beware, you must finish everything you order, including the rice!

Avoid at all cost
Went to sushi Garden for the first time last night, to try their all you can eat menu. The menu is quite large, with a good selection of rolls and nigiri. I also went during happy hour so i came away with a $4 Sake Bomber. So good so far, then came out the Sushi, It looked good, besides the flourescent Tuna, and that was about it, the freshness of the fish was clear. It was not fresh to say the least. All pieces tasted weird to me, So I tried the rice alone, wasn't that, so i tried the wasabi alone, although that wasn't the best, it still wasn't that. So I tried the Yellowtail, Shrimp, and Tuna alone, Found It! It is obvious that this is not fresh fish. There was a foreign taste to it, that tasted like plastic mixed with some sort of preservative.

don't eat here
I do not recommend this restaurant at all. I went there with a group of friends and they had all been there before, but it was my first time. I've been to a quite a few sushi places, and this was by far the worst. Terrible sushi, terrible service. For me the sushi was almost inedible, after my first piece i couldn't choke down any more. It had a really weird taste and did not seem fresh at all. save yourself the trouble and dissatisfaction and go some where else.

Worst place I've eaten
Their teriyaki chicken is the worts I've ever had in my life(Yokohama rice bowl teriyaki is better even thoug is a fast food place) also my son loves to eat chicken strips and we asked for some kind of chicken strips plate and my son did not eat any of them, then I tried it and they tasted like plastic, no wonder he did not eat any at all. I would not recomend this place and I am not coming back never. Also is expensive for the food you get. As soon as we got out of there my friend started to get a rush in his face and arms kind of an allergic reaction for the sushi he ate. My husband asked for sushi and it was not good at all.

Not worth it...
The service was slow, the buffet was sparse and bland and the tables were about 1 foot apart from each other, nothing like having someones rear end inches away from your food while eating.

I would not recommend this place for a happy hour
My friend and I were looking for a place where we can get sushi after shopping at foothills mall. Came in and it so happened that it was still a happy hour deal. We have two menu one pricing for happy hour and another one for regular pricing. We decided to mix some order with regular menu and a few from happy hour menu. we ordered a few and noticed that they put more rice than anything else, we had left over. I asked the waitress to put the few left over in a box for us to take home. They were charging us $8 for a few left over. We were not inform that we incur charges if we decided to take home. I won't come back again to this place.

The Service
They share tips at Sushi Garden. The servers wander around aimlessly like chickens with their heads cut off just doing whatever needs to be done. There is no order to this madness. 95% percent of mistakes made at Sushi Garden are due to some miscommunication between the 6 or 7 servers that have visited your table and confused your order and each other. There is no accountability for the mistake because no one owns it and no one knows who it was; therefore, the blame is placed up in the air and forgotten about, while the restaurant continues to lose money on server mistakes, but does nothing to correct it. That being said, it is still one of the busiest places around Tucson, and the money is consistently good.American Express
