Matthew Brust, MD

Dr. Brust joined Family Practice Associates of Southern Hills in the summer of 1996. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Brust is Board Certified in Family Practice. He completed his internship at Charleston Naval Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina, and his Family Practice Residency at The University of Tennessee, Memphis. After an internship, Dr. Brust served for three years as U.S. Naval Flight Surgeon at El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in Santa Ana, California. Dr. Brust is Board Certified in Family Practice. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, Tennessee Medical Association, and the Nashville Academy of Medicine. Dr. Brust has served two separate terms as the Chief of Family Medicine of Southern Hills Medical Center. Since July of 2004, he has served as the Chairman of the Clinical Ethics Committee. Dr. Brust has served as a Medical School preceptor for Vanderbilt University, Meharry Medical College, and the University of Tennessee.Dr. Brust enjoys taking care of the entire family including infants and senior adults. He can also provide minor surgical procedures, exercise stress testing, and screening colonoscopy.Dr. Brust and his wife have three children and reside in Nashville.
