Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 2005. Dr. Stypula acquired his degrees from St. Bonaventure University (BS- Biology, 1976), and Temple University School of Dentistry (Doctor of Dental Science, 1983); with post-graduate Residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania , and Continuing Medical Education at University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine (1997 - Periodontics and Implants, M.D.S.).

Dr. Stypula earned his Laser Periodontal Therapy license from the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry, and is an active member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon 1983 Kappa kappa chapter; American Academy of Periodontology member since 1999; United States Army - Lieutenant Colonel active reservist; American Dental Association; Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania; and  Temple Oral Surgery Honorary Society 1983.
