Very nice place for locals and visitors. They have a great resturant in the hotel. The only downside to this is that the price is very very high. But other than that the is a very good hotel with everything.

Nice Boutique Hotel
I have stayed here a couple of times and have been very happy with every stay. I tend to book this hotel on hotwire and I get a great price and the quality is superb. I love the color palette they use in the rooms and the beds are great! The Aveda products are definitely a plus.

Great boutique hotel
This hotel exceeded my expectations. If you reserve far enough out -- the rates are more than reasonable. The rooms are boutique (aka: somewhat small), but decorated very nice and the staff was great. It is also in a very convenient location near Union Square.

Nice location, nice hotel
The walls were a bit thin, so if you're a light sleeper it might not be the place for you, but that is the case with most hotels in this area. The Kimpton hotel has its standard animal print robes, which are always fun. However, I don't know that it was as nice as other Kimpton properties I have stayed at.

Pretty good
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for his birthday a few years ago. We had an excellent room, the room was pretty large and had a separate area with a couch and a 2nd tv. also had a jacuzzi bathtub. Was wonderful!

Good for business, bad neighborhood
The staff are very friendly, and the hotel is very nice, but the rooms are very small.

Uncomfortable
I stayed for one night while in SF for a party. THe room was so teeny and the bed was horribly uncomfortable. The layout of the room didn't flow. You couldn't have the bathroom door open if you wanted to enter the bathroom; you had to reach from the corner and pull it closed so you could get into the space to open it to go in.... very wierd. Service was fine, the looby was pretty, wouldn't stay again.

Unsafe for Woman
I stayed at this hotel for a girls weekend this September 2008. One of us was attacked on the street 20 feet from the front door of the hotel. Security from the hotel and the parking garage did NOTHING. We were lucky we were in a group and could defend ourselves.
