John Smith II, MD - Compass Oncology

Dr. Smith specializes in medical oncology and hematology with subspecialty expertise in breast cancer and melanoma. He is one of the co-chairs of The US Oncology Network breast cancer research committee and a strong proponent of clinical trials to improve our knowledge and treatment of cancer. He strives to stay current on the latest research and integrates that knowledge quickly into practice. Having lost both parents to cancer, Dr. Smith brings a deep understanding to his practice philosophy. He is honest and takes the time to listen and get to know his patients and their families. He appreciates what they are going through and is careful to balance quality of life with treatment strategies.
When not at work, his focus and joy is family. He has fun bicycling, sailing, fishing and playing with his dog.
