Board-certified OB/GYN Michael Afshari, MD, FACOG, understands that women’s health needs can vary dramatically at every stage of life. At his practice in the Oakland Gardens neighborhood of Queens in New York, Dr. Afshari is committed to compassionate, individualized care and attention based on each patient’s unique needs. With an integrative approach to medicine, he aims to help women lead the healthiest lives at every age and every stage of life.
Dr. Afshari completed his medical degree at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Unity Hospital. Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he also maintains an active membership with the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
For decades, patients have turned to Dr. Afshari for all their health needs, from routine gynecology exams, STD testing, Pap smears, and birth control, to comprehensive pregnancy care and help with infertility and treatment for PCOS. Dr. Afshari welcomes patients of all ages, including young women in their teens and older women seeking routine care for menopause. His compassionate, patient-centered approach has earned him the trust and loyalty of his patients throughout the Oakland Gardens area and beyond.
To better serve his patients, Dr. Afshari is fluent in English, Spanish, and Persian. When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Afshari pursues interests in computer science and health law.
