While attending college in Boston during the 1970’s, Stephen Liquori began making his own silkscreens and hand-printing t-shirts for the local track and running clubs. In 1976, the day after graduating from Boston College, Stephen opened Glad Rags, a retail t-shirt shop in Chestnut Hill, MA. Steve and his partner also opened a factory in Allston, which became a major screen print supplier to athletic shoe and apparel sportswear brands.
In 1983 Stephen founded Goodwear while continuing to supply major footwear brands with private label apparel programs. By 1987 he developed a made in USA, durable and heavy-weight shirt that could hold up to long term wear and comfort.
Since then, Goodwear has remained true to its roots, producing comfortable classics with timeless style. Always made in the USA from US-grown cotton, Goodwear has developed a cult following around the world for its superb quality and lasting durability.
