Frankie and johnny’s restaurant was opened in 1942 by Johnny Morreale and his then brother in law Frank Gaudin. The restaurant thrived feeding hungry dock workers and merchant men who made a living working on th river. Besides the abunundant seafood prepared with care, the hallmark of this small eatery was Johnny’s warm personality and genuine love of the restaurant business.
Today we continue Johnny’s mission by pursuing our one simple goal: to be the best neighborhood restaurant in New Orleans. Thank you for visiting Frankie & Johnny’s!

Pick this place instead of Bubba Gumps.
The seafood here actually tastes fresh and like it came from the sea. It?s well seasoned, well cooked and with quality ingredients. A step above the rest.

Famous but Overrated
This used to be one of my favorite neighborhood places, but after Katrina, its gone downhill at a rapid pace. The gumbo often tastes like it was burned and generally, the quality of the food is not anywhere near what it used to be,...American Express
