AFIT: Arizona Forum for Improvement of Taxation

AFIT is a collaborative coalition consisting of the Arizona Bar, the Arizona Society of Enrolled Agents, the Arizona Association of Accounting and Tax Professionals, and the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants. With valuable input from liaisons of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR), AFIT serves as a neutral platform where tax professionals convene to discuss critical tax administration matters.

Our mission is to foster understanding and cooperation among tax administrators, professionals, legislators, and taxpayers, to enhance the American Tax System. At AFIT, we believe in proactive problem-solving, openly discussing controversial issues, exploring alternatives, and identifying practical solutions.

Through meetings with tax agency liaisons, the AFIT Board of Directors, comprising representatives from professional associations, addresses various tax administration issues, including return filing, examination practices, and collection methods. Our collaborative approach ensures that concerns raised by any tax organization are thoroughly examined and discussed with the relevant agencies.

At AFIT, we pride ourselves on our cooperative spirit. We believe in addressing problems collectively and working towards common goals. Our forum provides a platform for constructive dialogue, where members can share insights, identify problems, and jointly develop solutions.
