Susan L. Jaynes, NP, Family Nurse Practitioner

Susan Jaynes is a family nurse practitioner at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont. She has been a longtime advocate for increasing accessibility to integrative medicine and appreciates combining the best of conventional and integrative approaches in her approach to health care. 

Her research interests include integrative medicine, chronic pain, rural primary care, nutrition, women’s health, and compassion in medicine.  

Sue values making strong connections with her patients and encourages their active participation in health care decisions.  She believes the best medical care considers a patient in the context of their whole life—their family/social network, community, work life, and lifestyle choices. She works to help patients find a path to healing, health, and wellness that is right for them, by listening with care and compassion and combining her medical expertise with the wisdom patients already have about themselves.
