I had a wonderful opportunity to work with a really great family nurse practitioner, and she inspired me to continue and further my education and to become a nurse practitioner. I have a heart for adolescent health. I think they kind of get lost in the mix, and I really have a passion to try to help them out, to navigate life and transitioning into adulthood. I try to make every visit as easy as possible. I don't want it to be a stressful thing for patients. I'm a patient of somebody, too, and I know what it's like to be a patient. And I try to listen to what their concerns are and to address all of them in that visit and try to build rapport as if they were not a patient, but as somebody I'm trying to get to know. My goal as a nurse practitioner is to try to get patients to feel better and to feel whole and to have a good, happy, healthy life.
