Established in 2010, General Physician, PC has grown to be one of the largest medical groups serving Western New York. Our endocrinology practice treats diseases related to hormone imbalances or abnormalities. A hormone is a chemical messenger that is released from an endocrine gland and travels through the bloodstream to a distant organ to exert a specific function. Hormones influence or control a wide range of physiological activities, such as growth, development, puberty, brain function, heart rate, sleep, sugar regulation, metabolism, muscle tone, hair growth, etc. Problems with hormones and the way they work may contribute to the following disorders: diabetes, thyroid conditions, pituitary conditions, polycystic ovarian syndrome, adrenal disorders, osteoporosis, and obesity.
