Andrew Mead's odyssey began in 1979 when he embarked on a four-year apprenticeship as a carriage builder for the State Rail Authority. His dedication and skill led to the completion of his apprenticeship in 1982, after which he spent ten years painstakingly crafting historical timber carriages by hand. Many of these remarkable carriages now grace the Thirlmere Railway Museum, a testament to Andrew's unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and heritage preservation.

In 1991, Andrew transitioned into the building industry, becoming a qualified carpenter, licensed builder, and supervisor. His relentless pursuit of excellence and continuous professional development has solidified his reputation as a trusted figure in the field.
