I love being a women's health nurse practitioner because it allows me to specialize in an area that is very important in my own life. I love helping people, and I enjoy educating my patients so they can make the best decision possible for their situation. One of the most important concepts I want my patients to know is that, together, we are a team. I want my patients to feel at ease knowing I am relatable and down to earth. With a background in nursing, I approach each person holistically. I look at their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Often my patients will have some anxiety before coming for their appointment. If they leave saying, "that wasn't so bad," or they have a smile on their face, I know I have met my goal. My greatest satisfaction is knowing that my patients are less anxious because they know I am there for them. I love my job, and I hope it shows in everything I do.
