Experienced interventional spine and pain physician Gabriel Mattei, MD, has offices in Atlantis, Boynton Beach, and Wellington, Florida, providing specialized care to patients with problems like lower back pain (including chronic axial low back pain), sciatica, lumbar spinal stenosis, herniated discs, and sports injuries.

Dr. Mattei offers evidence-based treatments such as physical therapy, steroid injections, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. He’s also an expert in minimally invasive procedures like radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, and minimally invasive lumbar decompression (mild®). The practice has onsite X-ray and MRI facilities for convenience and fast results.

Dr. Mattei was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He completed his medical degree at the Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, then moved to New Jersey for his residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School/Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Mattei then spent an additional year completing an interventional pain medicine multidisciplinary fellowship at Hudson Medical in New York City.

An American Board of Pain Medicine diplomate, Dr. Mattei is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He specializes in spine conditions and other musculoskeletal disorders and is particularly interested in minimally invasive techniques, neuromodulation, and biological treatments. He uses the most up-to-date and innovative therapies to reduce patients’ pain and improve mobility and function.

Dr. Mattei has affiliations with the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the Spine Intervention Society.
