Founder and proud veteran Oluseyi Awodele, MD, MS, is a board-certified occupational medicine physician and Diplomate of the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM). Dr. Awodele served as a military physician for most of his career. He knew many marines and sailors with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) who didn’t seek treatment because they felt physically strong or didn’t want to take medications.

Dr. Awodele has also had close friends who were exhausted and near helplessness due to parenting a child with learning difficulties or special needs.

After seeing marines, sailors, and friends transform their lives through MeRT, he became a believer in the treatment’s effectiveness. He’s proud to bring this breakthrough technology to the Carlsbad region.

MeRT and rTMS use safe, effective, noninvasive transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to improve brain function by boosting nerve activity. The BrainCare Performance Center team first identifies each patient’s underperforming brain area with a qualitative electroencephalogram (qEEG).

They then treat the precise area with TMS, which gradually improves electrical activity in the nerves, balances brain chemicals, and improves symptoms caused by mental health disorders like depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
