Leslie Van Dyne, M.D.

Leslie Van Dyne, M.D., is a general surgeon specializing in trauma care at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital. She received her medical degree from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in Vermillion, S.D. She completed her Surgical Residency at Mount Carmel Health Systems in Columbus, Ohio, and her Trauma Critical Care Fellowship at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Van Dyne’s practice is focused primarily in the inpatient setting, working with acutely ill surgical patients. She has a passion for treating critically sick patients and received additional training for the treatment of ICU and complex trauma patients. Dr. Van Dyne approaches every patient as if they were one of her family members. She believes this mindset helps her to keep perspective on what is important.

Outside of work, she and her husband enjoy exploring Rapid City and the Black Hills, as well as traveling to see new cities. She also collects houseplants and recharges by spending time with their blind dog, Boomer.
