Michael R. Schwartz, MD

Dr. Michael Schwartz is a board-certified UCI Health pediatric anesthesiologist who specializes in the management of healthy and critically ill pediatric and adult patients.

Schwarz earned his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Nemours Alfred I. Dupont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del. Prior to working at UCI Health, he spent 7 years at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J., performing pediatric and adult anesthesia as well as serving as the medical director of the post-anesthesia care unit.

His research interests include quality and patient improvement, postoperative care, and enhanced recovery after surgery.
