Alberto Ortiz

Alberto Ortiz, MD, is a board-certified physician specializing in nephrology, hypertension, and kidney transplant care. He received his medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. From there, Dr. Ortiz completed an internship in psychiatry, as well as a residency in internal medicine, at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., before completing his fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. Dr. Ortiz brings more than a decade of professional experience to his role at Tampa General Hospital Advanced Kidney Care. He has served as a general physician at Hospital Ramón de Lara and as a surgery assistant at the Obstetrics, GYN, and Specialties Medical Center, both in Santo Domingo. Dr. Ortiz was also a hospitalist at Florida Flagler Hospital in Palm Coast, Fla., as well as at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.
