About Jessica Evans

From a young age, Jessica Evans, FNP, knew she wanted to help people and go in to health care. “I want to make a difference in patients’ lives and their care,” she says. “I want to be a resource – someone they can go to and trust.”

Jessica earned her undergraduate degree at University of Texas, Arlington, TX and master’s degree at Maryville University, St. Louis, MO. She has worked as an urgent care nurse practitioner and a registered nurse in hospitals, clinics and surgery centers around the country.

Patients have taught her the value of listening, she says, adding that listening is one of the best tools health care providers have.

“I am very evidence-based when it comes to practicing,” Jessica says, wanting patients to understand her approach to medicine. “I love educating people and teaching them how to care for themselves.”

Who is or was the most influential people/role models in your life?  My grandma. She always worked so hard and pushed me to do my best and accomplish my goals and dreams.

What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it?  I worked at a factory packing butter – it was cold.

What is your favorite food? Movie?  Favorite food: pizza    Favorite movie: Twister

What was your best/worst subjects in school growing up?  Best was math and worst was science.

In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about?  Health, fitness and family.

What are your hobbies, interests?  Running, spending time with my husband and two kids.
