Dr. John Coleman, Jr., MD, was born and raised near Chastain Park in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Davidson College on a full academic scholarship. After majoring in Chemistry and graduating magna cum laude, Dr. Coleman was fortunate to receive a Robert W. Woodruff Fellowship in Medicine, a full academic scholarship to attend Emory University School of Medicine. He was also honored with the prestigious Harry S. Truman Scholarship, given for leadership and dedication to public service. Dr. Coleman graduated from medical school with honors, was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha and received the Hewlett-Packard Medical Graduate Award.
