Rachel Urrutia, MD

My clinical interests include fertility awareness based methods of family planning, complementary and alternative treatments, diet and physical activity approaches to improve health, communicating research to patients in understandable ways, and optimizing health in noninvasive ways. My research focuses on developing behavior change programs that will help reproductive-age women improve their long-term health and wellbeing. Some of my research projects include investigating the benefits and harms of oral contraceptive use, diet and physical activity patterns among pregnant women, lifestyle change programs for low income women at a family planning clinic, and research with women in Haiti about their health needs.
