Julie Matsuura, MD

An Orange County native, Dr. Matsuura has always excelled at science and her path to becoming a physician was a logical choice given her unique combination of academic excellence and compassionate nature. Dr. Matsuura feels privileged to be trusted by her patients and this is a responsibility she does not take lightly.Specializing in providing personalized care and taking the time to listen to her patients, Dr. Matsuura is thrilled to be a part of Hoag Medical Group where she will continue to make her patients her priority. Practicing since 1998, Dr. Matsuura says I feel that I am successful when my patients are heard and by joining Hoag Medical Group, I can provide my patients with the expanded education and resources they require.A graduate of UCLA with a degree in psychobiology, Dr. Matsuura earned her medical degree from Georgetown University in 1995 and completed her residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She is glad to be back in the local community where she grew up.Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Matsuura is a novice photographer and volunteers at a local bird rescue center.
