Kevin Moran, MD

Kevin M. Moran, MD, is a highly specialized and board certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in spine surgery. He has provided compassionate and individualized orthopedic care of all types to adults for over 30 years resulting in high patient satisfaction. His advanced fellowship training in spine surgery enables him to utilize leading edge skills and techniques to manage complicated cases. He cares for patients all over The Woodlands, Texas, Montgomery and surrounding counties and throughout the Greater Houston area. 

Dr. Moran grew up in the Clear Lake area graduating valedictorian of Clear Creek High School. He graduated summa cum laude with a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in the biomedical field. He worked for Texaco developing advanced control programs for petrochemical plants prior to pursuing medicine. Dr. Moran graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from the University of Texas McGovern Medical School in the Texas Medical Center in Houston.

Following general orthopedic training, Dr. Moran completed a spine fellowship at the Institute of Spinal Disorders at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. After, his fellowship Dr. Moran was appointed an assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine and collaborated with researchers at the Baylor Center for Cell and Gene Therapy which resulted in a patent for minimally invasive spine fusion.

He takes a conservative and evidence-based treatment approach, using advanced therapies, including minimally invasive computer-navigated spine surgery. People from a broad area visit Dr. Moran to receive treatment for various musculoskeletal problems, including sciatica, back pain, neck pain, disc problems and pinched nerves. Dr. Moran also offers more speciaized care for knee and hip pain including knee arthroscopy and reconstructive procedures like total knee replacement and total hip replacement.

Dr. Moran believes in the importance of the doctor-patient relationship. He sets aside time to understand each person's symptoms and goals. He uses this information to develop personalized care plans that relieve pain, improve mobility and promote healing. He considers all non-invasive options before recommending surgery.

Dr. Moran has resided in The Woodlands for over 20 years. He and his wife have raised five children in the community. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, playing tennis and being in the outdoors.
