M. Zafar, MD, SC, is a leading internal medicine practice serving the Central Illinois community and beyond with offices in Streator and Flanagan. The practice is led by Muhammad Zafar, MD, who has over fifty years of experience working as a board-certified physician.

Dr. Zafar obtained his medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1969. He completed his post-medical residency in Internal Medicine and fellowships in Hematology and Oncology at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

Patients trust Dr. Zafar because he has an extensive knowledge base and practical experience treating patients with various illnesses. M. Zafar, MD, SC, offers oncology care for blood cancers and other hematological malignancies. In addition to hematology, the practice provides medical weight loss support with Semaglutide (the active ingredient of Ozempic™ and Wegovy™) and Tirzepatide (the active ingredient of Mounjaro™).
