Alyssa chose to specialize in Cardiology at The Iowa Clinic because of her past experience. When she was a nurse she worked with our cardiology team and appreciated the teamwork she saw; she knew this team would be the perfect fit for her. She also worked on the telemetry unit at UnityPoint as a nurse and therefore is already familiar with cardiac issues. She enjoys the complexity and diversity of issues with the heart. What really drives her at the end of the day though is helping her patients feel better and making an overall difference in their health.
