Christopher Komanapalli, MD, FACS, FACC

Christopher Komanapalli, MD has been practicing with The Iowa Clinic since 2012. Dr. Komanapalli is a Central Iowa Cardiovascular Co-Management Board Member, Iowa Methodist Medical Center Surgical Co-Management Member, and Associate Clinical Professor at University of Iowa.

During medical school, a seasoned pediatric surgeon insisted Dr. Komanapalli become a surgeon though at the time he was pursuing primary care. Given the doctor was a world-famous pediatric surgeon, Dr. Komanapalli took his advice and spent time in multiple surgical disciplines. One day after a heart transplant, Dr. Komanapalli held the old heart in his hands. While it was still quivering he remembers saying, “I can never say no to you for the rest of my life,” and so he became a heart surgeon.
