Juan Pablo Fernandez, MD

Juan P. Fernandez de Castro M.D. is an American Board certified ophthalmologist and eye surgeon at Beraja Medical Institute in Coral Gables, Florida. He specializes in cataract refractive surgery and anterior segment diseases. After graduating from medical school at Universidad El Bosque in Colombia he trained at the University of Iowa where he completed fellowships in Molecular Ophthalmology and Ocular Pathology, then completed an internship in General Surgery, and Ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville. Dr. Fernandez de Castro has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is an awarded member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Medical Association, among other professional societies.
