Dr. Justin Lamar Smith

Dr. Smith grew up in the Delta, outside of Greenville. After graduating from Delta State University, he
attended medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he graduated
with honors. He completed his residency training at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, where he earned
the honor of Co-Chief Resident, alongside Dr. Curtis Glidewell.


“Growing up in the Mississippi Delta, I experienced firsthand what it was like to have limited resources
when it comes to health care. I watched my family struggle with this when it came to their own medical
care, and it made me realize at an early age how badly the state of Mississippi needed more health care
providers, primarily in smaller/underserved communities,” he says. “This was my reasoning for going into
medicine and for practicing in a smaller community.”


Dr. Smith’s hobbies include fishing, golf, running, hunting, watching movies and travel.
