The Grand Valley left a mark on Dr. Sherman Straw after his first visit to the area as a
youngster. Around preschool age he remembers being with his grandmother who came to the
area to buy fruit. After completing Medical School at the University of Arizona he decided to
make the Grand Valley his home.
Teaching young doctors family medicine through the St. Mary’s Residency Program has been a
passion of Dr. Straw’s for many years. He now is joining Family Health West Primary Care to
continue practicing the full scope of medicine with all age range patients. He also enjoys turning
complicated science and health into understandable nuggets for everyone to learn and know
more.
Dr. Straw highly values his patient relationships and takes an educational approach to health
and wellness improvement. Dr. Straw is proud to be part of the Family Health West Primary
Care team and looks forward to meeting you!
