Luis Rene Geada, MD

Luis Geada, M.D., is a general surgeon at Baptist Health South Florida and the appointed medical director of wound care for Mariners Hospital in Tavernier. He is a general surgeon with additional training in advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgery. Dr. Geada is fluent in English and Spanish

Prior to joining Mariners Hospital in 2022, Dr. Geada was chief resident of general surgery at the Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami, FL.
He’s published research papers in the Annals of Plastic Surgery and the Cureus Journal of Medical Science and presented on esophageal and gastric disease. He is a member of American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Geada’s care philosophy is to listen to patients and get to know their individual stories and struggles, making sure that each connection is a personal connection. He provides empathy and treats patients like his own family members to ensure they receive the best possible care.

When he is not treating patients, Dr. Geada enjoys outdoor activities and painting.
