XianFeng Zhu, MD

Dr. Zhu was born and raised in Zhejiang Provence, China. After receiving his bachelor of medicine degree at Zhejiang Medical University, he completed his internal medicine residency followed by an endocrinology fellowship at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH, ranked No. 1 hospital in China), Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He worked and did extensive clinical research as an attending physician for three years at PUMCH.

Dr. Zhu moved to the states in 1993, working as a research fellow for three years at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and six years at University of Toronto, Canada. He completed the internal medicine residency program at Park Ridge Hospital at the University of Rochester in New York and then completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Zhu came to Community after practicing nearly seven years as a general internist in Marshalltown, Iowa.

As a board-certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Zhu enjoys treating all adult chronic medical diseases, but has a special interest in diabetes, endocrine problems and geriatric medicine.

Dr. Zhu is married and enjoys jogging, reading and classical music.

Dr. Zhu is currently accepting new patients 18 years and older.
