Valerie Ann Pai, MD

Dr. Pai is a native of the Indianapolis area. She attended Roncalli High School and graduated with a bachelor of science from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Dr. Pai also completed a master's degree in biology from Purdue University. She left Indiana to study medicine at the American University of the Caribbean and graduated in 1998. Dr. Pai was able to appreciate varied global health perspectives while rotating at hospitals in Ireland, Belize and the United States. Dr. Pai completed her family medicine residency training at Wright State University School of Medicine, Dayton, Ohio in 2001.

She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Her other memberships include the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, Indiana State Medical Association and the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Pai provides care for whole families (newborns, children and adults). She feels that listening to and learning about her patients provides the best care paths for success. Educating patients about and identifying potential barriers which prevent optimal health is an essential part of Dr. Pai’s patient visit. Dr. Pai completed an MBA degree through the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2020. Dr. Pai feels that physicians should be advocates for their patients.

In her spare time, Dr. Pai enjoys spending time with her husband Raj, two children, Jathan and Anjali, and their dog, Kona. They keep busy with school, volunteering, sports and travel.

Dr. Pai is a continual learner and empowers her patients to learn about and engage in their health and well-being.
