As long as I could remember, from even being a toddler with my Fisher Price doctor toys, I have always to become a doctor. I love being able to help people and the science of medicine. I have a partnership approach to patient care where my job is to make an assessment and a recommendation, but I seek feedback from patients and families to collaborate for the plan of care. In other words, I would much rather hear during the visit that my plan is not going to work for that family so that we can adjust as needed, than have the family go home and not do what I'd recommend because it does not work for them. My areas of clinical interest include children with special needs like autism, Down syndrome, and mothers of newborns who need help with breastfeeding. Outside of work, I love to read, travel, and spend time with my family.
