Ammar Mahmoud, MD, is a skilled pain management and anesthesiology specialist in Bangor, Maine. He’s double board-certified in Canada and America in pain medicine and anesthesiology and is passionate about offering exceptional care, pain relief, and functional improvements for his patients.

Dr. Mahmoud fell in love with pain medicine after completing his anesthesiology residency at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois. He also completed a multidisciplinary pain medicine fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, where he gained expertise in advanced, cutting-edge pain-management therapies. 

Dr. Mahmoud helps patients struggling with joint pain, spinal stenosis (narrowed spinal canal), neck pain, back pain, migraines, cancer pain, and other forms of chronic pain.

He offers intrathecal pumps, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, Vertiflex™ procedures, joint injections, epidural steroid injections, peripheral nerve stimulation, dorsal (ganglion) stimulation, cancer pain management, and minimally invasive lumbar decompression.
