Sharon Yu, MD

Sharon Yu, MS, MD, earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA and completed her residency in general surgery at Atlanta Medical Center. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and masters in physiology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Yu completed her fellowship in abdominal transplant fellowship at Emory University Hospital. She is interested in both liver and kidney transplant and is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Transplant Surgeons and the American Society of Transplantation. Dr. Yu specializes in liver and kidney transplantation as well as living donor kidney nephrectomy. In her spare time, Dr. Yu enjoys spending time with family and friends, eating, yoga and watching college sports. Dr. Yu is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.
