I come from a very small town and knew little about how nutrition plays such a role in your overall health. My college advisor suggested nutrition so I took a few classes and never looked back. I love teaching and helping people understand the role nutrition plays with their overall health. I think it is important to focus on the patient and not generalized information about nutrition. My patients are all unique and it is important to recognize and respect diversity. Motivating and educating based on individual patients needs is part of my approach to patient care. My areas of special interest include diabetes, women's health and pediatrics. Outside of work, I like to travel, read, cook and enjoy time with my family.
