Joanna Marie Dauber, DO, NCMP

I switched careers and decided to enter into medicine after my mother was diagnosed with a rare disease. I saw first-hand how important it was for patients and their families to have compassionate providers to help guide them through their medical questions and concerns and to treat them with respect and dignity. I chose family medicine for the ability to build long term collaborative relationships with my patients for all their preventive and chronic healthcare needs. I look forward to serving the Rocky Mount community and helping promote the health of my patients by addressing their physical, mental and emotional well-being. My goal is to provide comprehensive compassionate evidence-based care to all patients. I am passionate about women’s health including preventative medicine such as cervical and breast cancer screenings, family planning including long-acting contraceptive options, nutrition and lifestyle counseling, and mental health. I earned a certificate in menopause medicine which helps me better understand the unique needs of women through all phases of their lives. I also believe in a holistic approach to body ailments and practice osteopathic manipulative therapy (OMT), earning my board certification in both family medicine and osteopathic manipulative treatment. I enjoy the diversity of cases seen by a family medicine physician and the ability to care for all patients. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband and our dog. I like to spend most of my time outdoors either hiking, gardening or at the beach. I also love to travel, exercise, cook and read.
