Alide Gaona- CLOSED

Alide Gaona, LPC, LCADC is a member of Summit Health’s Behavioral Health and Cognitive Therapy Center team. Ms. Gaona provides treatment for a range of emotional and situational challenges including adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, conduct disorders, substance use disorders, grief and loss, stress management, and parenting concerns. She works with children, adolescents, and adults, and her experience includes treating individuals who have been diagnosed with co-occurring disorders.

Ms. Gaona takes pride in creating a comfortable environment that’s focused on a patient’s needs and transcends every visit. “It’s important for my patients to know that I am here to help during and after their visit,” Ms. Gaona says. “I enjoy hearing back from patients and seeing how they have been able to incorporate the tools and skills worked on during our session into their everyday life.”  

The emergence of behavioral health services served as a calling for Ms. Gaona. Having witnessed a lack of resources and access to mental health and substance use disorder services while growing up strengthened her resolve. “I had no doubt in my mind I would be a part of the mission for physical and mental wellness,” she says. Through this work she is most rewarded by opportunities for patient education, to work with children and teens, and to see patients improve as they apply long-term strategies toward managing their mental health.

In her free time, Ms. Gaona enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, and attending Broadway shows and other performing arts events. She is a supporter of CASA of Union County, as well as causes related to pediatric oncology and mental health.
