Ganesh T. Ghooray, MD

Dr. Ganesh Ghooray was born in Guyana, immigrated to the United States in 1976 and grew up in California, Pennsylvania. He received his bachelor’s degree in behavioral neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh in 1985. He earned a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Ohio State University in 1992. He studied medicine at the Medical College of Ohio and received his medical degree in 1996. He completed his internship at the Medical College of Ohio and then moved to North Carolina for his neurology residency at Duke University Medical Center. Following completion of his residency, he entered a one-year fellowship program in neuromuscular diseases at Duke. Dr. Ghooray is board certified in neurology. Dr. Ghooray is trained in electromyography and has a special interest in the evaluation and treatment of myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome, dystonia, and peripheral neuropathy. Dr. Ghooray enjoys spending time with his wife, Julie, and three children. He is an avid sports fan, loves to play golf and outdoor sports.
