James "Jim" David Muccio, MD

I have more than 20 years of experience caring for a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries. I believe in a “patient-centered” approach to treatment. Whether it be surgical or non-surgical, improving my patient’s quality of life by returning them to their active lifestyle is my fundamental goal and the most gratifying aspect of my job. My journey toward patient care included a stop at NASA. As a formal NASA engineer turned orthopedist, I’ve come to appreciate the human body as an “engineering marvel”. What other machine has ever healed itself? You don’t have to be an engineer to be a good orthopedist, but it does help in understanding the body’s biomechanics. My areas of special interest include adult and pediatric fracture care, shoulder, knee, wrist and ankle arthroscopy, total knee and hip joint replacement surgery, nerve decompressions and ligament and tendon repairs. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, golfing and snow skiing.
