Victor Michael Amato, MD

Victor Amato, M.D., joined the MUSC Health team as a clinical Gastroenterologist after many years with Catawba Gastroenterology in Lancaster, SC. His residency training in Internal Medicine and Fellowship training in Gastroenterology were completed at Rutgers University Medical School in New Jersey in 1985 and 1988, respectively. He has been in continuous clinical practice in Gastroenterology since arriving in the Carolinas in 1988, with previous hospital affiliations in Charlotte, NC, and Albemarle, NC. He is proficient in endoscopic procedures such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP. Dr. Amato has extensive experience treating patients with swallowing disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver disease.
