Yosef Golowa, MD, FSIR, is a double board-certified Vascular, Interventional Radiology, and Diagnostic Radiology with over 20 years of experience caring and treating complex patients at leading tertiary care centers.

Dr. Golowa specializes in innovative, minimally invasive, safe, effective, image-guided, precision treatments. These include prostate artery embolization (PAE) for benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), hemorrhoidal embolization for hemorrhoids, and genicular artery embolization (GAE) for knee osteoarthritis.

In addition he has expertise in the treatment of varicose veins or vascular malformations and peripheral vascular disease (PVD), which he can treat at his practice in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.

After graduating with honors from Yeshiva University in New York City, Dr. Golowa attended NYU Grossman School of Medicine in Manhattan, one of the top medical institutions in the US. Following medical school, he pursied a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital Center of Columbia University Physicians and Surgerons (now known as Mount Sinai West) also in Manhattan.

Dr. Golowa following that he was trained in Vascular and Interventional Radiology in a fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts General Hospital. He later underwent further advanced training in minimally invasive procedures for pediatric diseases and vascular anomalies at renown Boston Children’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School.

Before starting his own practice, Dr. Golowa had a distinguished tenure as an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine Montefiore Medical Center in working at Montefiore Medical Center for over 12 years.

He was appointed as director of Pediatric Interventional Radiology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and co-director of the Montefiore Vascular Anomalies Group.

A nationaly known expert in his field, Dr. Golowa has been a speaker at numerous professional meetings. He served as a clinical trials co-investigator, and his authored manuscripts are published in prominent peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Golowa was also invited to Fellowship in the  Society of Interventional Radiology, an honor bestowed to only 10% of members.
