Inner Balance Acupuncture: Bret Ellington, DACM, LAc

Bret Ellington, DACM, LAc, is a licensed acupuncturist and holistic health practitioner at Inner Balance Acupuncture in Westminster, Colorado. Dr. Ellington works alongside patients to find the root cause of their condition, treating each patient as a unique individual and helping them to restore proper balance, relieve pain, and achieve optimal health using holistic approaches. 

Dr. Ellington developed a passion for medicine while training as an emergency medical technician and working on a biology undergraduate program. He volunteered at the emergency department in Memorial Hospital one evening a week, to submerge himself into the health field. 

Soon after, he chose to study the many facets of oriental medicine and completed five years of training in acupuncture, Chinese herbology, fire cupping, qigong, nutrition, Chinese body therapy, meditation, and tai chi, while earning his master’s and doctoral degrees. His expertise also includes pain management, migraine headaches and women’s health. 

Dr. Ellington is fully trained in the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) protocol, as well as having worked at five different rehabilitation centers. He has extensively treated victims of physical and psychological abuse through Survivors of Torture International. 

Dr. Ellington’s experiences in acupuncture and Chinese medicine has gained him well-rounded insight in many areas, including being an expert witness for acupuncture malpractice cases, being a medical director for 11 franchise acupuncture clinics, training and mentoring over 100 acupuncturists, as well as being a board-certified PDA provider for the California Acupuncture Board and the NCCAOM.

Many patients begin working with Dr. Ellington based on his expertise in treating acute and chronic conditions and his gentle approach to alleviating their pain.
