I chose to become a dietitian because I LOVE food, everything about it – growing it, sharing it with loved ones, using it as a tool for improved health, playing with it in the kitchen, learning the science behind it, and much, much more. My philosophy of patient care is that education is key, and understanding a patient’s overall life is important when making lifestyle changes. I also believe that establishing trust is crucial. I want to empower patients by presenting information in a clear and concise manner so they feel able to manage their conditions independently and fearlessly. My areas of special interest include community nutrition and programs, agriculture, disease prevention and adolescence, and women’s health. Outside of work, I enjoy outdoor activities, cooking, live music and being with my dog.
