Sync Health: Angelia Trujillo, WHNP

Angelia Trujillo, WHNP, is a board-certified women’s health nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience caring for the reproductive health needs of men, women, and teens. At Sync Health in Anchorage, Alaska, Angelia specializes in assisting those who have a history of sexual trauma or interpersonal violence get the highest standard of medical care they deserve.

Angelia completed a Master of Advanced Community Health Nursing at the University of Alaska in Anchorage and  later graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis, Tennessee.

She then opted to complete a Master of Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Frontier Nursing University in Lexington,Versailles, Kentucky. Angelia has extensive experience meeting the unique health needs of gender-diverse adolescents and adults.

She relies on her empathetic, caring nature to enhance the general health and sexual wellness of people from all walks of life.

Through her gender-affirming care and trauma-informed care (TIC) services, Angelia provides access to medical, educational, and supportive resources to improve a person’s quality of life. She maintains a safe, nonjudgmental space for teens and adults to address issues like trauma, gender identity, and mental health concerns.

Angelia is also an advocate for teen health and women’s wellness. She offers comprehensive sexual health services on-site, including sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing and birth control counseling. To address the unique needs of adolescent girls and women, Angelia provides complete menstrual care and menopause counseling services.

In addition to serving her patients, Angelia is an associate professor at the University of Alaska Anchorage School of Nursing. She is the co-author of several published articles and book chapters and continues to work with state and local law enforcement agencies on issues of violence, sexual assault, and other public health concerns.
